Our thoughts...

This book gutted me! It was heartbreakingly beautiful. I just love cover of this book; it fits perfectly with the story. I was a crying mess when I read this book but the last page is what really got me.

Mackenzie and her family have just moved to a new state for her father’s work. Her and her twin sister are getting ready to start their senior year of high school. Mackenzie has always felt she was lacking something when being compared to her brother and sister.

A day after their arrival their life’s are turned upside down.  Mackenzie finds her twin sister on the bathroom floor dead. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for her to find her sister. Grief hits everyone differently and can make a family closer or pull them apart.

Mackenzie has a hard time sleeping and one night ends up in Ryan’s bed and she’s able to sleep. She doesn’t understand why she’s able to sleep in his bed with him, but she finds comfort for a little while.

Ryan understood Mackenzie in a way no one else did. I loved their relationship and how it progressed. He was able to help heal Mackenzie and stand up for her when she needed someone.

This book has stayed with me long after reading it. It touches on such a hard subject; teen suicide is awful and affects so many families around the world. If your looking for a book that will stay with you days after reading, this is it. Ryan's Bed is one of my top reads so far for 2018.
