Our thoughts...

Keep Her Safe is good, folks. Tucker knows how to write mystery and suspense with a dash of romance and this story is no different. In fact, it’s one of my favorites by her.

There are some hard subjects in this story and the emotions on the page feel so real and tangible. This story is about loss, in several different ways, reconnection, trust, burning down the past, and rebuilding from the ashes.

The romance is not front-and-center and I like that here. There is a need for Gracie and Noah to rediscover each other, who they have become, and learn to trust each other before their attraction can realistically be explored in a healthy way that leads to longevity. They have both been through a lot and they’re smart enough to realize that lust is not what either of them needs during their times of need. They need someone to depend on, to trust, and to give support. It’s a beautiful relationship that comes out of something ugly.

The mystery…I love a good mystery and I tend to figure things out quickly, which can often lead to disappointment. I figured things out quickly in this story but I’m not confident that it was meant to be a big secret. My impression is that the big mystery is in the details and how Noah and Gracie discover them. Tucker excels in this way and kept me voraciously reading. The nuances are the key to this story. They are the driving factor, the biggest source of unease, and what makes Keep Her Safe a home run of a novel.
