Our thoughts...

Intense~Heartbreaking~Love

I was captivated by the first few pages, I didn’t want to book the book down.

I'm here today because six years ago I lost the love of my life and now he's back from the dead, and in a few weeks I'm set to marry my best friend. His Brother.”

What happens when soulmates are ripped apart by something that they don’t fully understand? Riley and Evan are the definition of soulmates, everything about the story makes you fall in love with them. When Evan leaves on a mission only to never return, what would you do?Turn to his twin brother, Nate. Riley and Nate have always been close. They were best friends. When the love of your life is taken from you, you find strength and comfort from those closest to you.  What happens when to that friendship when the love of your life is gone?

Six years later…Evan returns from his mission to find his fiancé engaged to his brother. He learns that his family thought he was dead. Yet he received updates on his family the whole six years he was gone.  Evan is angry that this happened to him and his family. He wants to know who is responsible for this error and how it managed to continue for six years. Yet asking these questions could put his family in danger. Riley is shocked to say the least. The love of her life, who was killed is standing before her. She buried him, they had a full military funeral. How can this happen?  What should she do? She is constantly warring with her heart and head through most of the book. Do you pick your first/true love or the man that help rebuild you after that loss? What do you tell your child?

I liked watching Evan and Ryley fall in love. Simple, pure and innocent.  Seen their relationship with Nate when they were growing up. I feel like we got a good sense of where book two will go, based on the ending and knowing that this author has a talent for second chance love stories. I wish we would have learned more about her relationship with Nate and had his POV. I feel that hurt the story. I understand that this is Evan and Ryley’s loved/lost story. The downside to this book is that Nate is missing for most of it.  Nate’s absence, that puts him in a difficult spot with readers.   Follow Ryley and Evan on their journey to get answers to how and why this  has happened to them.
