The Girl I Was Before is book number three in the Falling Series by Ginger Scott, and it has a very different tone from the other two books. This is Paige’s story and in books one & two I wasn’t a Paige fan. Now, I think I’m Paige’s BIGGEST fan! Her spunky attitude and bold confidence radiate off of every page in this book. I love a strong female, and Paige is that girl to a T.
Ginger Scott created a story that had surprise elements hidden throughout the story. There were a few times that I read a line and think “NOOO. WHAT? HOW DID I MISS THAT?” These elements created a deep story that reminded me that the choices we make in life can take us down a path we don’t fully understand until we mature.
In the first two books of the Falling Series I felt that those stories were created around overcoming mental health situations. The Girl I was before is very different from books one and two, this story is about overcoming your own worse enemy, yourself.
Hats off to Ginger Scott for creating something different!
