Emotionally charged. I couldn’t stop reading this book, and when I did all I wanted to do was finish Helena’s story. It’s like roller coaster ride where once you get off all you want to do is get back on again experiencing pure highs and pure lows.

Helena has a dream unfortunately for her she wakes from that dream. It’s a nice dream, filled with a hopeless romantic’s imagination. Yeah that’s right I said it. Hopeless romantic. We all know the author isn’t into writing romance most of the time, but she does it so very well.

Helena meets her dream husband in the form of her best friend’s boyfriend Kit. They become close secret friends. I say secret, because they both fail to discuss things with her best friend Della. Della was extremely self-absorbed, and only thought about herself throughout the entire friendship with Helena.

Things happen over the next few years, and we get to experience the two having ups and downs from a birds eye view. Being in Helena’s headspace was exhausting at times. She was so unsure for most of it. I felt so much sympathy for her, and at times she gave me anxiety. She could never figure out what in the hell she really wanted out of life.  I am happy to say she did finally figure it out after torturing herself all that time.

In all this book was a really great read. I am glad I got to experience another great romance from the author. Like I said earlier I know she isn’t a big fan of writing this genre, but when you got the skills for the art, there is no denying your heart.

5 Kit-Kat, Navy blue, Pottery Barn loving Stars.
