I really really tried with this one y'all!! The blurb basically promised a sure thing for me. I had so many annoyances with the execution though.

Calla is a book editor who keeps to herself. She's a wallflower that needs to branch out in her life or it's going to pass her by.

Devin is her new neighbor. He's a PI who just moved to Savannah to escape his past jobs and his friends are there.

A few of this issues I had are:

I'm southern. I like a good southern book as much as the next person but everything in this book was OVER done. From the cliche "sugar" (I've never heard anyone call someone that in real life) to the way southerners dress and act, it was too much. I found myself rolling my eyes at everything.

The names. Sienna Miller (actress), Justin Moore (singer), Billy Ray (singer). Why put so much second hand in a book?

The whole "Devil" thing. I get it. He's kinda like a character in a book. I felt like it was pushed too much.

The timing. The whole book took place within a week. Literally fast forward romance.

I'm sure there was more but I'll stop there. There were more things that didn't work for me that did and I really wish I could have gotten invested in the story line but it seemed a bit silly.

                                                          The cover however is amazing.
