The
Best Man is a new series of books that are about
the Allen Brothers. I believe that they are all standalones that intertwine. I
will tell you this much, I plan to read them all! This is my second read by
Barbie Bohrman; she delivered a second book that I couldn’t put down. I
needed to see if Trent and Veronica would get the HEA they deserve.
Do you ever read a book and instantly think of the
perfect song for those characters? When
you read The Best Man you’ll have to
tell me if you think of Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur. I’m telling you
this song was on repeat in my head. I have admit that I’m absolutely crushing
on that tune right now.
Trent Allen is the love em and leave em them type, or at
least he has been for the last 31 years. That is until a woman from his past reappears.
This isn’t just any woman. This is the one that caught his eye instantly on the night of
his college graduation, and he knew right then that she was different. Only to be told
that she is his best friend’s fiancé. WHAT! NO! How could this beautiful, smart and witty
woman be engaged to him?
Veronica Webber recently divorced her cheating
husband and made the decision to move back to the city she loves. With a last
minute cancellation from her best friend she decides to still go out to the
local bar for a drink. That one drink happens to bring the one man she’s only heard
stories about back into her life.
This is what happens when you get to know someone on
your own, tuning out the stories that you’ve heard about them, all the preconceived
notions. This is what happens when you finally meet the right person at the
right time. I really hope that we will see more of Tent and Veronica in future books.
