Our thoughts...

I think I might have found a needle in the haystack! My PNR series love has been suffering as of lately. I haven’t even been looking, because every time I read something I end up deeming it lacking. Lacking in depth, plot, world building, you name it. It’s hard finding a good PNR series.

Anyway, I want to be honest and tell you I struggled just a wee little bit through the beginning of this first one. This world is set up in a current real-life world Chicago. However, there are other realms you might visit along the way. I would have liked to see more world building in the beginning. Also, I would have loved a little bit more character building too. The main character Eden was the exception as she was done well, but I found myself missing pieces of the puzzle with the Hero Legion. I felt that sometimes the story would stop at a finite point then take off in a different direction. It almost gave me whiplash. Alas, I pulled through because I had a friend that said just keep going it will make sense. I’m glad I did because the ending was great. The author did a good job finding her groove the last quarter of the way through. I immediately finished it and got the next one. So this is more of a constructive criticism of the first one and what I thought might be missing. Other than that I think it would be worth your time. Also on a side note, this is a continuing series for now. Meaning the characters in the first book are the main ones for the next two so far. YAY! Happy Reading.
