Our thoughts...
Strength~ Courage~ Trust
I have to start by saying that I LOVE the His series. I love everything about the books, the characters, and the emotions the writing pulls out of you. I had the honor of reading this series very early on, books two and three weren't even out yet. That being said, I still cried while reading my ARC, even though I knew how the story ended. I love books that can pull that kind of emotion out of you.
In
Becoming His we have the honor of
reading about Harper (Ace as her family and friends calls her) and Max falling
in love and learning to trust each other while, dealing with their own
insecurities. Ace's world implodes at the end of the book. She believes
that she has lost everything that is important to her and she runs away from
her problems. In Losing Her, we
follow Max’s journey through life without Ace. He had just found the love of
his life and now she is gone without looking back. We watch him struggle to try
and remove every trace of her from his life. The reminders of her are just too
painful. Finding Me brings everything
full circle.
In
Finding Me, we meet back up with
Harper in Delaware working as a lab assistant to Dr. Maxwell Fitzgerald, known
as “Fitz”. Why “Fitz” you might ask? Because saying the name Max is too hard
for her. Harper is simply existing but not really living her life. Thanks to a
concerned professor, Harper is required to talk to a counselor. Kitty, her therapist, is trying to get Harper to see things from a different perspective.
Harper is stubborn, she’s still hiding, but Kitty, along with Fitz’s help, is
slowly starting to make some progress with Harper. Being forced to go back home
for her sister, Jenny’s wedding, Harper has no choice but to confront her
ghosts. When she arrives back in California everything has changed. Yet some
things are still the same.
This
is where writing this review becomes hard. I want to tell you everything, but
then I would ruin the story. So many things happen in this book. We watch Harper struggle with being Ace
again. We watch both Max and Ace fight the love they have for each other. Fitz
sees a whole different side to Harper; he didn't even know who Ace was. The Bosse sisters realize how many things Ace has kept from them. I’m telling you this
is the best book in the series. I want more of Ace and Max, I want books for
the other characters. I’m just greedy when it comes to Mariah’s writing.
We
learn that we all have strength inside us that we don’t realize; we just need
to find the courage to unleash it and trust that everything will work out as
it’s supposed to. My thoughts- read the series then come and find me at The
Review Loft so we can talk. I can talk the His
characters all day every day. I love them that much!
