Our thoughts...

This was my first book by Carly Phillips. I hear that she usually has the shock and awe factor in her books. This story had none of that. While I did enjoy Kaden and Lexie’s story I felt the book needed more twists and turns, some angst. The love was beautiful but I wanted to feel my heart break a little first.

Lexie is trying to balance her own life along with helping her sister who suffers from a mental illness.  Lexie is struggling with wanting to have a relationship, career all the while knowing that she would walk away from both things for her family.
Kaden has been burned by every woman in his life. He swears love is not for him; until Lexie shows up in his office unannounced, hired by his business partners to be his personal assistant.

There is an instant attraction/chemistry between them; she connects with him on deep level, sees things the rest of the world misses. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind, she’s got moxie.

Overall I enjoyed the story. If you’re looking for a fast, HEA low angst book pick this one up! I look forward to reading another book from Carly. I am excited to read Luke's book.
