Aly Martinez is one of go to authors and she always
delivers. This was a great opener for the start of a new series.
Jude used to be a cop until one night he made a wrong call
that changed his life. He answered a
call after he was already off not expecting to show up to a out of control
fire. Years later he can’t seem to get that one night off his mind and it still
haunts him at night.
Rhion has lived through something very tragic. Years after
she still has a hard time leaving her house and trusting new people. Her family
has become the men of the Guardian and now they have added a new member. For
some reason Rhion can’t figure out why she is pulled towards Jude. There is something that draws her to him and
she does stuff out of character with him.
When Rhion and Jude figure out how they are connected things
change for them. Jude starts to pull away from Rhion. She works hard to make
Jude see that he deserves her and what they have. The chemistry between these
two is off the charts. I loved seeing them learn to trust each other and become
stronger people.
This was a well written story of love and second changes. I am
looking forward to the next book in this series.
