Our thoughts...
The prologue, that’s all it took for me to be hooked.
I need to know what happened to Sebastien and Poppy. I knew it wasn’t going to
be good, that they weren’t going to get their happily-ever-after. I had to know
that Sebastien ended up happy. With the amount of love, he expressed within the
prologue, he had to find love again, be willing to love again.
I started and finished this book in a day. That’s how addictive
Love Me In The Dark is. Make sure you
allow enough time to read because you won’t want to put it down. Sebastien will
have you wrapped around his finger in a matter of pages.
Valentina has lost herself. She’s given everything she
has to her husband, William, for the last 12 years. She became everything that she thought he wanted or needed. Somewhere along the way she forgot what made
her happy, what her dreams were. They've survived the ups and downs that married couples face, as
well as some downs that nobody should ever have to face in their marriage.
William has a business trip scheduled in Paris, of all places, it
just so happens that this business trip falls shortly after their anniversary
during a particularly rocky time in their marriage. He surprises Valentina by asking her to join
him while he presents her with a key to an apartment that he’s purchased as an anniversary
gift to her. What better place to
rekindle a dying romance than the most romantic city in the world. Valentina
arrives in the city a few days before William.
Valentina is off exploring Paris while she waits for William
to arrive. She makes the mistake of walking into private art exhibit. Once she
realizes her error she makes to leave but is drawn to a heartbreakingly beautiful
painting of a poppy. She needs take closer look, she’s drawn to the artist
pain. She’s able to feel all the emotions that were brushed onto the canvas;
love and loss hope and heartbreak. This
is where the story begins. I won’t say anymore because I really do love this
story and I want you to experience it.
It appears fate is working in Sebastien’s favor. A
beautiful woman that calls to him on a molecular level has just walked into his
life. He knows that she is there for a reason and that he can’t let her go. She
also happens to be his new neighbor!
The chemistry between Sebastien and Val is palpable.
Their story is full of angst but most importantly its full of love. I do have a
few issues with this story. These characters need an epilogue. Yes, they are left at good place but I want to
see them live their dreams! Especially Val because she had just found herself,
her passion. I wanted to see what she did with it! There is one part of this
story that I feel was just thrown in for no real reason. Mia had already done
her job of making William out to be an a$$hole, I don’t understand why she had
to go there. I won’t say what exactly, I’m sure you will figure it out.
All in all I enjoyed their story. If you want a fast, addicting read, this is it!
Thanks for review Terri!
