Our thoughts...

Save me and I'll save you....

I am not even sure how to put into words the review to Lux. I ask myself questions over and over again. What if I didn’t get the message? Did I miss something? Why do I feel like I reread over half of the book again? These are all the things running through my mind after I finished. I was thoroughly dumbfounded. Now don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved the first two novels Nocte, and Verum. I felt the author had great momentum with the two previous novels, and there were tons of questions running through my mind. You can imagine how elated I was to dive into Lux with no knowledge of anything. To say I was super hyped would have been an understatement.

As I started reading I noticed a re-occurring trend sweeping through the pages. It was all relatively similar to what I read before. The same scenes playing out, with the same words lighting up the pages over and over again. I really did think I was crazy at times, however it all started to blur together. By the last twenty percent I was just ready to get the answers I had been seeking all along. Even though I don’t want to spoil it for you. There is explanation for the reasoning behind the crazy. I thought the ending was a bit weak in terms of wrapping up everything. I felt that things were plugged in a rush.  Maybe it’s me, and my perception of how it was all supposed to be. I just know in my heart that if I didn’t “get it” I just didn’t get it. I love Courtney’s writing, and I think she is exceptional with her art. The ending to this series just fell very flat for me, and by the end I was just ready to be done.  3 Stars.
