Our thoughts...

I was really enjoying this book during the first half. It was sweet but not too sweet, sporty, fun, and overall enjoyable. The first major road bump hit and things became turbulent, as would be expected. I was onboard with this turn of events; it created a greater sense of urgency and a healthy dose of anxiety. Then another road bump hit, and I was suddenly really not okay with the story anymore. Despite having a deadline for this book (it was an ARC), I had to put it down and walk away. For a long time. I was so incredibly close to marking it DNF (did not finish) but I dragged my behind back to it just to get it off of my Kindle.

I can honestly say that the second major twist of events makes me mad. I’m still mad even though I finished the book last week. I hated it, and that is something I never say. Everything was fine and dandy, following a respectable plot arc, building a relationship that was fun to watch, and then BAAM: things went too far. WAAAAAY too far, in my book. I just don’t believe that the major character involved would have behaved that way, and if said character would naturally behave that way, then I no longer like this person. I know that is vague but I really don’t want to be a spoiler. Just know that what was revealed really bites me in the butt and it just might do the same to you.

I honestly don’t know if I can recommend this book. I’m sure many people can overlook the part that annoys me but there will definitely be a chunk of you who will feel the same as I do. I guess what I can say is read at your own risk and with an open mind.
