Our thoughts...

Holy Cliffhanger, Batman!

I somehow missed that this was more than one book. The Anatomy of Jane ends in the middle of the story and left me hanging! I have a pretty good feeling where things are going, but still…ugh. I need the next book ASAP.

I enjoyed this book. It is hot and sexy with a great romance. Jane is a woman who is living a rough life and all of a sudden two wealthy men who are attracted to her come into her life. It would be easy for her to allow these handsome fellas to sweep her up into their world and leave her old life behind but Jane has a spine and dignity. She also has respect for both men, Wesley and Maxwell. I love how she gives consideration to not only each individual but also to the men as a couple. The three of them have such a genuine bond and love for one another and truly see them as three parts of a whole.

I have one major criticism and that is the editing. I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) through NetGalley and with that comes an expectation of some level of editing. I have never received such a poorly edited ARC. Words were switched around in sentences, extra words were everywhere, quotation marks were popping up randomly and weren’t always where they were supposed to be; it was incredibly distracting. I don’t expect ARCs to be perfect by any means but this was a mess. The story made me want to push through but there were several times I had to stop and decipher what something was actually supposed to say. I’m not letting this issue affect my rating as of now. I am curious to see how much was fixed in the final draft.

With that being said, I do plan on purchasing this book as well as the follow-up. I need to know what happens next! I recommend The Anatomy of Jane to anyone wanting hot sex and intense love with a bit of scandal and drama thrown in. This is a fine debut from an author I’m excited to follow.
