Our thoughts...

Her Halloween Treat is everything you would expect from a Harlequin Blaze story written by Tiffany Reisz. For those of you unfamiliar with Harlequin’s Blaze series, they describe it as, “You like it hot! Harlequin Blaze stories sizzle with strong heroines and irresistible heroes playing the game of modern love and lust. They're fun, sexy and always steamy.” Add to that Reisz’s clever humor and charming wit and you can’t go wrong.

This is the first of three stories in the Men at Work series that are set to come out this fall and they are quick and sexy reads about handymen in the Pacific Northwest. This story clocks in at 224 pages, so don’t expect a lot of development. The two main characters knew each other growing up so that allows their current relationship to accelerate faster and still be believable. Harlequin Blaze books aren’t known for depth and development but Reisz does what she can with limited time. That being said, odds are, if you’re reading a Harlequin Blaze, you won’t really mind (or maybe even notice) the lack of character development, if you catch my drift.

My only real complaint is that certain aspects, primarily related to the past, were mentioned a lot. To the point of being too repetitive. I have no problem referencing something several times throughout but some of these things, which were important to the story (the first few times), were mentioned a few too many times, to the point of distraction for me.

All in all, Her Halloween Treat is a fun, sexy, and quick read. Go into this one looking for a great time and that is what you’ll get out of it. I can’t wait to read the next installment!
