The angst Queen is
back! I read Diamonds in 24 hours. I couldn't stop, I didn't want to stop. I needed to know how this book was going to end or better yet
lead into Gold. Now I’m stuck waiting. I was hooked after 4 pages.
I couldn't wait for the dynamic of the men in Bryna’s life to be
revealed. If you've read any of K.A. Linda’s previous books, you know it’s
bound to be good!
Bryna Turner has everything, or so she lets you believe; money, power over her peers and the prefect- movie star boyfriend. What she doesn't want the world to know is that her life isn't perfect. It is actually far from perfect. Her Dad is a famous director and has re-married. Not only has he re-married but the woman is a class or two below him according to Bryna. Meanwhile, her Mom is off in her own little world, leaving Bryna with the choice of moving to a new school or staying with her Dad and step-family for her senior year. The choice was easy. She isn't going to start over. She likes being the Queen bee.
The men in Bryna’s life
are interesting. They all bring a different dynamic to the story. Pace is
the younger stepbrother, star quarterback. He’s smoking hot and a little
creepy. He consistently is interfering in Bryna’s life. Plus, Byrna won't let
him forget what she thinks of him. Yet, I believe that there is a hidden side
to Pace that we haven’t seen yet. Gates is Bryna’s longtime boyfriend, a gorgeous, an up
and coming actor. He has been with Bryna for years. He knows her, knows what
she’s likes and what matters to her. That being said they both use each other
and have plenty of secrets. Jude is the mysterious, experienced, older man. He’s
the one who is able to see through her defenses, her tough exterior. He sees
the empty inside of her and uses that knowledge to disarm her of her
defenses.
Secrets! They all have
them. What will happen when they’re revealed? Some are bigger than others. Some
may be easier to overlook. One might
even be able to live with oneself after committing a few. The real question is
can you forget, move on? Will Bryna be able to move on from him?
