Our thoughts...
When I first meet Harlow in the Sweet Filthy Boy, I fell in love with her instantly and could not wait to read her story. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Mia, but I felt connection with Harlow. She is a chick I could get Starbucks with and would tell me if my butt looked big in my skinny jeans. (She would be my SSS - sassy soul sister.)
"Oh, I'm sorry, Poodle. Does the sexual double standard make you grumpy?" (Harlow to Finn)
In the first chapter we meet Harlow and Finn again as Finn is in Harlow’s hometown of San Diego. The first interaction between Harlow and Finn instantly tells us what the relationship was like as well as what it is going to be.
“I’m not pissed. This isn’t a lovers’ spat, and we aren’t having a quarrel. I’m just having a bad morning.”
“I know they won’t be stocking Seventeen and Cosmo, but you should come by and check it out, anyway,” he says. “The store looks good.”
Harlow and Finn’s story is a story about how appearances can be deceiving. Both Harlow and Finn have a certain impression of each other and I enjoyed how the story unfolded as they both discover the different sides of each other. This discovery, I felt, was the foundation that turned this couple from a one-night stand/booty call to a couple that really cares for each other.
“I’ve never met anyone like her, as strong-willed as me and yet, just handing me everything, letting me take her apart one touch at a time.”
“These red marks that tell the room and the sky and the swollen moon outside for only a tiny trip of time: I belong to him. My body is his.”
This book is written in a dual POV, so if you love to know what the guy is thinking, then this book is for you. If you love a fiery heroine and an enigmatic hero then this book is for you. This book is full of whit, humor, and moments that touch your heart. Christina Lauren have done it again and gave us another great love story. Dirty Rowdy thing is part of the Wild Seasons series, but could be read on it’s own, so go ahead and 1-click this book. The secret comic book nerd in me cannot wait to read the next story in the series; Lola and Oliver’s story - Dark Wild Night.
To celebrate my first review for The Review Loft - I am giving one winner an ebook copy of Dirty Rowdy Thing as well a mug from the Christina Lauren store.
To enter - comment below with who your favorite Beautiful (Bennett, Max, or Will) or Wild (Ansel, Finn, or Oliver) boy is . One winner will be selected at random.
