Tackling the TBR: Liz's TBR Reveal

The time is here - the big reveal on how many books are on my TBR.  There were a lot of good guesses but congratulations to Michele Tucker - you were the closest guess to how many books are on my TBR list!!  The official number of how many books are on my TBR list is 558.

It has taken me a while to amass all these books, so I know it will take me a while to whittle down this list.  I have actually have read two books from my TBR list (down to 556 - woo hoo!), however the urge to buy more books is getting to me.  There are two books out by authors I like and I really want to continue the series.  I am trying to hold strong, but the Amazon gift card I got for Christmas is starting to burn a hole in my pocket.  I have spent the last couple of weeks talking about my TBR list, so next week we will check in with Jenny and see how she is doing tackling her TBR list.

Review: Second Debt by Pepper Winters

Title: Second Debt (Indebted #3)
Author: Pepper Winters

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Pepper Winters

Pub Date: January 26, 2015
Rating: 3 Stars

Our thoughts...

When I first read the synopsis for The Indebted series by Pepper Winters, I was hesitant.  You are probably wondering why, and it has to do with the overall story line.  I struggled to connect with the premisis that Jethro owned Nila due to a piece of paper that indicates she had to repay her family’s debts that is centuries old.

Review & Giveaway: Throb by Vi Keeland

Title: Throb

Vi Keeland

Our thoughts...

Ahhhh….Throb.  I loved this story, and could not stop smiling ocne I finished the book. I am usually not a big fan of books set around reality TV shows, but I have heard such great things about Ms. Keeland’s writing that I decided to read it.  I am so glad I did!

Tackling the TBR: 1-Click Check-In

Phase One Update

One of us has been far more successful than the other. One of us has their…things together and the other one is stuck in some weird undiscovered circle of Dante’s Inferno. The latter is also a bit dramatic.

Review: A Million Tiny Pieces by Nicole Edwards

Title: A Million Tiny Pieces
Author: Nicole Edwards

Genre: Erotic Romance
Publisher: SL Independent Publishing

Pub Date: January 20, 2015

Our thoughts...

Excuse me while I fan myself as I just finished reading A Million Tiny Pieces by Nicole Edwards.  Nicole is known for writing hot romance and this stand-alone book did not fall flat.  Million Tiny Pieces is a story that revolves around Mia, the divorcee, Phoenix, the playboy, and Tarik, the best friend in love with Phoenix.

Do you have a book or series that is like a warm comfy blanket and is your go to when you want something fun and light-hearted? For me, The Neighbor from Hell series is my go to series, and The Game Plan did not disappoint.

Tackling the TBR

The Journey Begins...

The greatest horror of owning an e-reader is the ability to amass an incredibly long queue of books to be read. I had to add extra shelves on Goodreads to tier my TBR based on how much I want to read a book. That has not done me much good.

Review: Hard Limit

Title: Hard Limit (Hacker #4)
Author: Meredith Wild

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Meredith Wild LLC

Pub Date: December 9, 2014
Rating: 3 Stars

Our thoughts...

This is the fourth book in the Hacker series, and quite honestly I struggled with it.  For those that are not familiar with the series it is your typical billionaire/recent college graduate love story, but with a twist.  Blake is a reformed hacker and Erica runs an internet-based start up company funded by him (of course).

Confession Time.....

I wanted to end this day with confessing something to our readers as well as talking about one of our features I am most excited about. Ok, confession time - I honestly don't know how many books are on my TBR list.  I was using the Goodreads feature to import my Amazon ebook purchases and at one point, my TBR list was in the 800's and I am still not done.  What is the cause of this supersized TBR list?  I can only blame it on my one-click addiction. If I continue on this path, my TBR list will outlive me. Someone in my family will then inherit my TBR list, and I am afraid they will not be able to handle it.

Book and Wine Pairing & Giveaway

It is no secret, I enjoy wine.  One of my favorite things to do in the evening  is curl up on my couch with a glass of wine and and the latest book I am reading.  One evening,  I thought about how food and wine are paired together and wondered if this is something that could be done with books.

Liz's Top Picks of 2014 & Giveaway

It was hard to narrow it down, because I read so many great books last year.   Below are my top picks of 2014 (in no particular order)

Review & Giveaway: Dirty Rowdy Thing

Title: Dirty Rowdy Thing (Wild Seasons #2)
Author: Christina Lauren

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Simon & Schuster

Pub Date: November 4, 2014
Rating: 5 Stars

Our thoughts...

When I first meet Harlow in the Sweet Filthy Boy, I fell in love with her instantly and could not wait to read her story.  Don’t get me wrong, I liked Mia, but I felt connection with Harlow.  She is a chick I could get Starbucks with and would tell me if my butt looked big in my skinny jeans.  (She would be my SSS - sassy soul sister.)
