Our thoughts...

This was by far the most tragic, heart-breaking and beautiful book that I’ve read so far in 2016. The journey for Alyssa and Logan to make it full circle was painful.

This is the second book that I have read of Brittainy’s. Her writing is incredible. She writes her characters in such a way that you can feel their happiness, pain, love, loss, highs and lows.

Alyssa comes from a wealthy, but divorced family. She wants for nothing physical. What she craves the most is love from her mother and father; to be accepted for who she is and what she wants to become.

Logan comes from the wrong side of the tracks. He needs everything. He has a drug addict for a mother and an abusive father. The only one on Logan’s side is his older half-brother Kellan. What he is afraid of is love, and when you love someone, you subject yourself to pain and loss.

Alyssa and Logan see something in one another that others tend to overlook. Everyone focuses on the negative characteristics that someone carries and not their positive characteristics. Along the way, she became his greatest High and he became her Lo.

“Because if you judge him solely on his few moments of lows, then you miss out on his beautiful highs.”

The Fire Between High and Lo was a little slow to start. I didn’t find myself really enjoying the book until about 70%. By no means am I saying the book is bad, it’s just so tragic and sad that my heart hurt for Alyssa and Logan. They couldn’t catch a break. They do make it full circle. They have created the life that they always dreamed about. Is their life perfect? No, but it is their kind of prefect, it’s their High & Lo.
