Our thoughts...

There are a few things I've come to expect in this author's books and one of those is it tugs on your heart strings. This one is no different. It had the potential to be very emotional and for many it will probably touch their hearts. For some reason I had a hard time connecting to the story and it hindered me being able to 5 star this one.

Logan and Alyssa are best friends turned a couple. Logan has big issues. Like huge. Of course Alyssa sees past his issues and they fall in love. Sounds great right? Well Ms. Cherry doesn't make it that easy. There are huge obstacles that take place that make it hard for them to be together.

My issue with this one was Logan. I didn't feel like he was remorseful. He just vanished and took Alyssa's heart with him and I didn't feel like he really cared. I'm ok with someone messing up, but I need them to own it. He didn't. Their time apart was very glossed over and to feel their connection, I needed more as a reader.

Alyssa played right into his hands. I like a stronger heroine. Maybe the point was she was strong in her forgiveness? Maybe I should have felt that way but I didn't. I wanted her to have a bigger backbone.

The road to their HEA was tough. I suspect many will be happy with the way it turned out but sadly I'm not one of them.

The writing in this one was great as always but the story was lacking, and that's why its not a 5 from me.
