Our thoughts...
I have to say that L.J. Shen knows how to write a dark romance novel that is for sure. My first thoughts were, holy hell this is going to be intense and it sure was from the very beginning to the very end.
You meet Prescott who has gotten herself into so hot water with some dark and dangerous people. She is thrown to Nate who has to basically be her guard until the bad guys come to get her. So much goes on while she is under Nate's watch that you didn't want to put the book down so you could find out what was going to happen next. He is nothing to me but means to an end. The plan is simple: break free, collect the pieces of my broken soul, kill the bastards and run away. You will have to read to see if Prescott's wishes were met or will Nate be the distraction that holds her back from her goals.
My first book by this author was Sparrow and I loved it so much that I didn't think she would be able to top it. Blood to Dust was just as good. It was different than Sparrow but I still loved it. If you are into dark romance you will love this book. If you are on the fence about dark romance I think you will still love this book! It was dark but it wasn't too intimidating or too graphic. Many sad and graphic things happened but the author was able to write it in a way that you felt all the emotions but it wasn't to the point where you couldn't read it. I highly recommend reading any book by this author. She is becoming one of my favorites!
