Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Stylo Fantome

Pub Date: September 27, 2016

Our thoughts...

The blurb alone had me dying to read Neighbors.  I love Stylo’s writing style, the way she can make you feel all the brewing emotions, and you never know exactly how the story will end. Not to mention that My Time in the Affair is still one of my top book recommendations.

How do I even start this review with out giving anything away?  I FREAKING LOVED IT!   I loved this more than book one.  This series just keeps getting better and better.  I really don't know how the dynamic duo that is Erin Watt will be able to top this one in the final book.

Broken Prince gave me everything a suspenseful romance/new adult book could give.   You loved some of these characters so hard and you hated some of them so much  that you wanted to jump into the pages and strangle them.

Holy Cliffhanger, Batman!

I somehow missed that this was more than one book. The Anatomy of Jane ends in the middle of the story and left me hanging! I have a pretty good feeling where things are going, but still…ugh. I need the next book ASAP.

Our thoughts...

I went into this book without even reading the blurb.  I heard some good things about it but I wanted to be totally surprised.  I’m glad that I didn’t know much about it at all when I started.  It allowed me to form my own opinions.  I really enjoyed the book.  I thought the story line was different then a lot of the other books I have read.  It was a fast read for me and I am not a fast reader at all.  It kept me on the edge of my seat.  I needed to know what was going to happen with all of these crazy, rich, and spoiled characters.

Ella is a nobody that gets dropped into a life that she could never imagine.  In the past she hardly had enough money to eat and she is brought into the lap of luxury with a bunch of people who do not seem to like her or want her around.  This book follows a bunch of rich teenagers and all of their drama.  I really enjoyed reading it and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!  It has a young adult label but it’s more new adult in my opinion.  Then boom***Warning** huge cliff hanger at the end!

Will these boys come around and finally include her in their lives?  Pick up this book to find out.  4 royal stars!

So I started this little gem about teenagers being all angsty, dirty, backstabbing pricks who have millions of dollars at their disposal, I thought ok this will be Gossip Girl high, I can usually deal with teenagers once in a while so no big deal right?  Wrong.

***This book contains material that may be considered triggers regarding domestic violence.

Madame X is my first experience with Jasinda Wilder and I had high hopes given the consistent praise I hear from reviewers I respect. I was unfortunately left disappointed and I am sure I am in the minority, especially since I forgot to put on my fangirl goggles.

Review: The Bourbon Kings by J.R. Ward

Sluggish ~ Grandiose ~ Foundational

This book is like “The Little Engine That Could.” The first fifty pages are rough and disjointed, randomly flashing back at unnatural but convenient times. There is a lot of eluding and not enough happening. The story tries to find its footing but just can’t gain any momentum. It takes Ward about 100 pages to find her flow and really start to take the story/stories somewhere worthwhile. The shift in writing quality makes me wonder if she took a writing break. Everything after the first 100 pages is different in flow, personality, and quality of storytelling and manages to turn a turbulent beginning into a fine finish.

This book will serve you well if you are willing to gloss over issues for the sake of escapism. If that is you, you will most likely rate this higher than 3 stars. I, however, wanted more than escapism and, therefore, found the story lacking.

What an incredible re-calibration of A Thousand and One nights. It took me a bit to get use to the names and what they meant as well as the story, but it morphed into this certainty that I can’t even explain.

Desire ~ Sex ~ Decisions ~ Explosive

This book has is it all: angst, hot sex, character frustrations, suspense, and the fear of finishing the book because you’ll have to wait for book two. Gail McHugh knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat, that’s for sure. I didn’t want to put Amber to Ashes down, yet I didn’t want to finish it either.  I loved everything about this book: the explosive chemistry between the characters, watching them make their decisions, whether they are right or wrong. The dynamic between Ryder and Brock and Amber was engaging. She finds something in each man that she thinks she needs.
