Our thoughts...
I was disappointed with Twisted Palace. I loved the first two books, I loved Reed and Ella;
I was waiting on baited breath for them to finally do the deed. I wanted to see
them rule the kids at Astor Park. That being said it doesn’t mean the book was bad;
it was a 3.75-4 star book for me. I just couldn’t get on board with how Ella
and Reed were acting, it wasn’t them.
I felt that Ella lost some of her strength in this
book, she didn’t have that spark that she consistently had in Paper Princess and Broken Prince. She was weaker, and I don’t understand why. The Ella
in previous books wouldn’t have done this. Oh my god Reed, the guy who fights
for fun, was willing to sign a deal that said he was guilty of a crime he didn’t
commit. Why? He wouldn’t do that; he’d fight till the very
end. The two of them as a couple are solid, which was a relief; they truly
became a couple in this book and had each others backs.
Steve, oh my god, I wanted to throat punch him. He consistently
annoyed the hell out of me. I don’t understand why Ella listened to him. In
previous books she would’ve fought or questioned him. It drove me crazy. I feel
that bringing Steve back to life only to have the story end the way it did was
pointless; he should’ve stayed buried.
The Royals were supposed to be an untied force but
where the hell was Gideon this entire book, it’s like he disappeared. In
previous books he was at least back for a visit, now he only appears at the
funeral. A united front would mean ALL Royals.
This book felt more like a set up for other
characters stories than the conclusion to Ella and Reed. I will say that I was
happy that they finally sealed the deal; they are at least heading in the right
direction for a HEA. I had such high hopes for this book.
Thanks for your candor about this book Terri, its always good to read all the reviews you girls post so I get a good idea of the books!
